Ski Weekends at Blue Mountain Without Driving

Two to two and a half hours north, in February, on a Friday evening, with skis on the roof. Or you could read a book in the back.

Trips & Getaways

Winter is the whole argument

The drive from Toronto to Blue Mountain runs up the 400 and then onto regional roads that behave very differently in January than they do in July. Squalls off Georgian Bay can close visibility in minutes, and the last stretch is not a highway.

We dispatch winter-capable vehicles for these runs as standard, and the chauffeurs who take them do the route regularly. That combination is worth considerably more than the fare on a bad evening.

Luggage is the second argument

Skis, boards, boots, bags and four adults do not fit in a sedan. An executive SUV handles a couple with full equipment; a Sprinter van handles a group of eight to twelve with everything they own.

Tell us the equipment when you book, not the passenger count. Hard ski cases in particular take far more room than people estimate.

Timing around Friday

Northbound Friday traffic from Toronto is predictable and unforgiving. Leaving before 2pm or after 7pm makes a material difference; the window between is where an hour disappears.

Sunday afternoon southbound has the same pattern in reverse. If you can leave the mountain at eleven or at six, you will beat it. If you cannot, the drive is still far more pleasant from the back seat with someone else watching the brake lights.

Flat charter pricing means a slow Friday costs you nothing extra.

Frequently asked

How long is the drive to Blue Mountain?

Roughly two to two and a half hours from Pearson or downtown Toronto in reasonable conditions, and longer on a Friday evening or in weather. We build the real number into the plan.

Can you collect us from Pearson with ski equipment?

Yes — that is a common booking. Give us the flight number and the equipment list and we will send a vehicle with genuine room for both.

Do you run to Collingwood and other Georgian Bay towns?

Yes, including Collingwood, Thornbury, Wasaga Beach and the surrounding resorts. It is quoted as a flat charter.
